English language as a parallel language for university activities

An important goal of the University is to introduce English as the second language of most of the administrative procedures and services rendered by the University, particularly in the areas of human resources management, grants and legal services  and day-to-day scientific and research activities of professors.

The initiatives that have already been launched include:

  • Hiring a staff member with a high level of proficiency in English at the Centre for Communications and Marketing
  • Having the documents relating to the organisation of the AGH University translated into English
  • Having the documents relating to staff employment translated into English
  • Having the content of the University's new website in English;
  • Collating the vocabulary related to the functioning of the University,  creating the Glossary of the AGH University and making it available electronically to the University employees;
  • Preparation of the English-language version of documents for doctoral students studying at the AGH Doctoral School
  • Teaching courses for AGH employees - English language coursework under the programs: Power, Erasmus, Accessible University and others;
  • Establishing a Welcome Point at the AGH University – providing comprehensive and professional service for foreign students, doctoral students and academic staff visiting  the AGH University
  • Preparatory works before the establishment of a Welcome Point for foreign visitors within the central administration (Center for Personnel Affairs)
